Bonnie, our daughter is now 7(!! when did that happen?) she had the surgery when she was 8mos. She required extensive surgery. (actually 2)to create a vaginal canal and opening as well as the recession and separating her labia. It was 10hrs but I am ecstatic to report that she did awesome. The surgeon did a fantastic job. She has yet to question any difference between herself and her younger sister. You really can’t tell much of a difference. She bounced back very quickly. We did have to spend four days there but by the time we got home she was back to pulling herself up and cruising around. She did land once on her bottom and it did hurt so when she felt a fall coming she would go stiff and fall straight back!

Hope you have a positive experience with your surgeons. Don’t be afraid to ask questions before or after.
