Thank you everyone for your input. Nice to know this hyper stage will pass once her body gets used to the inhaler. I am not comfortable with her being on yet another drug. I am one to not even like to take an asprin. She takes "Advair" diskus (a disk that she inhales powder like formula from) twice daily. This is what they call a maintence for her asthma. If in between those doses she has difficulty breathing, she is to take what they call a rescue dose.  She would use an aresol with albuterol sulfate if she is not at home OR albuterol sulfate from her breathing machine (nebulizer?). If this doesn’t work she goes to the E.R. It is almost like how we all handle a CAH emergency. If this happens or that, then you do this step and so on. Blows my mind to think of all the things I have to monitor when she does get some nasty respitory virus. Between the CAH and asthma...EEEEEKKK! I am researching every aspect of asthma. It is interesting about the fluids. Hopefully once we get the allergy nailed down we can adjust her meds. I would rather her not be on an inhaler of any kind EVERY DAY. BUT I am new to this and as with CAH it took some time to learn.... live and learn. I thank everyone for their important imput. Blessings to all.
