Monthly Update-Non CAH
Apr. 13th, 2003   12:24am

Just a quick non-cah update from last month after posting my shots.  I’m still hacking at the physique with the body building.  Despite taking a two week break from activity and weight training in the last month, I can see a little difference from the last shot’s I posted so I thought I’d post and let you all see this.

The obliques are pulling in.  I think because I had to stop my leg workouts, I concentrated my weights on my ab’s and upper body instead and it therefore has made a little difference the last month in that area.  The leg fat is still the same and doesn’t want to budge at the moment.  I thought it was because of the liver being a little sluggish so I have just got over a detox diet which I decided to do whilst taking time off from exercise.  Feel a little better anyway from that and back to the gym as of Monday next.  I’ll be starting on my next Challenge except I have to do just normal exercises on the right knee and not weights for some time as I had an MRI some weeks ago and they found fluid on the knee and feel it could be signs of early Osteoarthritis.  I prefer to be positive about it and treat it like my que to strengthen my joints and bones rather than resign myself to getting depressed and feeling I can’t do this.  I was a little depressed for a week or two, but have kicked back and start Ultrasound therapy on the knee on Monday.  I have an appt with an Orthopaedic surgeon on the 29th May and thought to try and rest the knee and try some heat therap and ointments rubbed into the knee and also the therapy above.  I’ll get 6 weeks of that in and hopefully if there is dramatic improvement we won’t have to open the knee up and look around.  The MCL (medial collateral ligament) is still a little sore and seems to be taking an age to heal.  I can’t say I have been easing off though up to two weeks ago and so it was my thought that I needed to just rest the knee completely and just do physio based exercises.  Anyway it has paid off and I am pain free at the moment and off the NSAIDS which don’t exactly help the joint or ligaments to heal.  Here’s me at the beach last week.  LOL!  Looking just a little slimmer and getting into some pants I bought ages ago and couldn’t get on--which were then slung into the wardrobe and only saw the light of day last week!   I am pretty chuffed with the way ,y upper body has come on and my arms are really much more toned.  i also have bag’s more energy than I did have.  Aside from the knee being a pain--the rest of me is feeling and looking ok--hehehe..  Onwards and upwards.

Regards,

Anne-Marie
