Allen,

I was concerned when I first made the switch that I would be a number not a face but my experience has been quite the contrary.  The people I deal with are so available to me.  The first fellow I worked with helped me fight my insurance company for 6 months until growth hormone was approved.  He made numerous phone calls on my behalf and wrote countless letters. I am sure a private physician would not have offered me that much commitment. 

The Doctor at Mt. Sinai made the diagnosis and then had my husband and I in to discuss exactly what it all meant.  I thought this was great but I just told her then that we felt compelled to get a 2nd opinion and from everything I had heard it had to be with Doctor New.  I think she just knew we wouldn’t be back because she just kindly said well Im always here if you need me.  THen through our pediatrician I just sent many thanks.
