Our endocrinologist and urologist concur that 18 months is when my twins will have the surgery done.  I have asked them several times why the wait as I have read the same thing you have on the board (earlier is better). They tell me that it is best to wait because while they are young, the tissue is still adjusting to the medication and may actually decrease in size, making the surgery not as difficult. They also say that it isn’t a necessity as a young baby, unless infections are causing problems.  So, we are going to wait until around 18 months like the docs suggest.
