Cortef Oral Suspension
May. 12th, 2003   5:48pm

I am an attorney who represents the family of a little boy who died a few years ago while taking Cortef Oral Suspension.  It seems quite clear that his death was due to the problems in formulating the Cortef, problems that many of you know led to the eventual recall of the product.  This little boy, whom I never had the pleasure of meeting, did not suffer from CAH, but rather another health challenge that left him in need of cortisol.  In that regard, he was very much like many of the kids whom I have read about on this message board.  This certainly appears to be a wonderful place for people to share experiences, gather information, and give support to those who need it.

The reason for my post is simple.  I am interested in hearing from anyone who has information regarding difficulties that others may have had with the fluid Cortef.  Specifically, I am focusing on the resuspension problems, e.g., the drug would settle on the bottom of the bottles and would not resuspend, resulting in underdosing of those taking it.  Thank you in advance for any assistance that you can provide.  frankc@warshafsky.com
