Who said you should feel lucky that your son has CAH?  I certainly don’t feel lucky that my son has it!  The question was which is worse - CAH or diabetes?  Lyndsey being someone who lives with both conditions has given her opinion and you should respect that, not take offence!  I am sure that any endocrinologist will also tell you that diabetes has far more serious consequences and the chances of permanent disability and fatality are higher in diabetes than with CAH.  Shall we start a new debate - cancer or diabetes?  I know which I would choose but that doesn’t mean that I would then think that diabetics are lucky!  Living and coping with any life long medical condition isn’t easy and I agree that having a child with CAH can be a nightmare at times. I think the point that has come out of this debate is that there are worse conditions, but of course we would rather have had children who were 100% healthy!
