re: TWO QUESTION ABOUT DEXAMETHASONE DURING PREGNANCY

Hi Fay,

I can just speak for myself when I say that I had no problems taking the Dex.  I had taken it for eleven weeks and did not have any side effects at all.  Even with a twin pg (in which your blood pressure has a greater risk to increase) and the Dex therapy my blood pressure remained normal to low.

As for my babies birth weights, they were actually lower with this pg.  First pg (no Dex taken) my sons weighed in at 6 lbs 3 oz and 7 lbs 3.5 oz at 37 wks.  This pg my daughter weighed 5 lbs 1 oz and my son 5 lbs 15 oz at 36 weeks 5 days.

I have particpated in a study that Dr. New is doing with regards to prenatal dx and use of Dex.  You might what to contact her for office for further info that could be helpful to you.
