Heather - You are aware that Synthroid is for thyroid problems and Dex is for adrenal problems aren’t you? They are two seperate issues. I too was not told to stress dose with my Dexamethasone until I met Cathy from Magic Foundation (the first person I ever had contact with that was familiar with CAH). I had been feeling lousy and we talked on the phone - she asked if I had stress dosed and I didn’t have a clue what she was talking about. Before stress dosing there were a lot of things athletic that I couldn’t do. Now I can do them. Yes - you should also carry an injectible with you of hydrocortisone. Your endocrinologist (I hope that’s who you’re seeing) will write you a prescription. Just in case of emergency. Get one.

Just for the record - I didn’t know much of anything about CAH until the internet - I changed endos and found a good one. This all happened about 4 years ago. Granted I was diagnosed as a teen. - we’re talking 15 years went by first! Lucky I didn’t die! Did have a couple of hospitalizations though. Are you familiar with the signs of adrenal crisis? If you aren’t you should be.
