My daughter who is SWCAH had her first urinary tract infection in her infant years. She is almost 6 years old now. Was your daughter virilized? My daughter was virilized. The reason why most CAH girls get urinary tract infections is because the urethra tube is U shaped. Causing a backwashing of urine. Sometimes surgery can fix this problem. Sometimes it cannot. My infant had a rash that came and went. The doctor called it hives. As fast as they would appear on her skin, they would dissapear. Then reappear. Making me crazy! I took her to her ped. and she tested for a urinary tract infection to my amazement. They said sometimes infants show infections in different ways. Oddly enough this was my daughter’s body’s way of showing infection in her bladder. Sure enough she had an infection. MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR DAUGHTER MEDS. ASAP IF THIS IS AN INFECTION ! You do NOT want this traveling to her kidneys if this is a urinary tract infection. Make sure you keep tabs on any fever popping up too. If she starts a fever OR vomits, take her to the E.R. ASAP! Any urine in a diaper is a sure time to call your ped. No matter if the baby has CAH or not. Let us know how she is! Blessings to you. P.S. This does get easier in time! hang in there!Laura
