RebeccaMLaura,
I found a post from you back in April of ’02 about a rash on your daughters hands and feet. I had the exact same thing and with all you described (I couldn’t find the followup after those posts) and what I have is called Dishydrosis (A type of exzema) you don’t sweat properly and can be combined with an allergy to knickel and other symptoms. I have some odd things to ask you about it if you ever feel like emailing me. If anything else happened afterwards, some questions about how it came about, what they finally determined it to be, etc. Willing to sound crazy, I have found a lot of people actually never had any symptoms until they had their ears pierced. (Perhaps it was the first time they ever had cheap jewelry introduced to their blood? Heh, j/k) Mine started right after I turned 16 and was allowed to get my ears pierced. I worked in a card shop where we handled lots of change and never had any problems. Right after I got my ears pierced I started getting the bubbles on my hands and the change at the store made them become even more itchy and blistery. The first doctors said I had scabies. I was horrified. The next doctor was a little bit smarter......
Anyway, never found out anything about the heat rash, my 12 month old SWCAH daughter has this rash on her chest and a little on her neck and behind her ears. She is scratching like mad. I think she got it after a couple of days of crazy weather and us not being able to get the clothes from the cold-hot shifts that seem to be happening every hour changed for her comfort. She sweats profusely when she eats and naps. Perhaps someone else who happens to read this might have a suggestion on how to treat/handle/prevent that but when I saw your old post, I had to write.
Take Care,
Rebecca
