I agree with your statement about sometimes needing an injection for typically non-prescribed reasons. All of our kids respond differently.  It keeps us parents on our toes.

I had a situation with Olivia where after an injection (for vomiting and fever) I took her to the ER for fluids. Her transformation was amazing.  At her next ped endo appointment I talked with the doctor about the situation.  She initially indicated that if she had been on-call that night that she would not have had us go to the ER.  After explaining the change in Olivia her comment was that some kids really need the extra fuilds.
