Yes, your endo should have given you an rx for the solucortef injction and needles to use in an emergency.  Usually they are given if the child is extremely ill and can not keep down their oral meds, such as when they have the flu.

About the medic alert, I have had one since my son was 2 months old, and our ped said that keeping it on his diaper bag when we are out was ok when he was little. He’s almost 15 months now (his b-day is March 3!), and I just bought a sports style ID from http://www.n-styleid.com/ and he has kept it on with no problem. I love it!
