re: Questions about work and precocious puberty

Hi Tonia,

I know just what you are going through.  My son was going into puberty when he was 4 years old.  His was due to the bad meds and his OHP levels were jumping all over the place.  They had even gone as high as 26,000+.

He exhibited all the signs and symptoms of puberty both physically AND mentally.  I was beside myself.

Once we switched from the liquid cortef to the pill "things" did slow down a bit.

Please be sure to check your daughter’s bone age and see if she has advanced.  My son’s bone age had gone from 4 yrs to over 10 yrs inside of just one year.  He was in agony and rolled on the ground in pain.  We had to push our ped endo for answers and eventually had to switch.

He is currently enrolled in the Growth Hormone program at Cornell with Dr. New.

You mentioned that your daughter was small, that is all the more reason to check out her bone age.  Without the GH program the advanced bone age had diminished his final height to 4’9"!!!!  At least now we have some hope.

Increasing your daughter’s dose should help get her OHP levels back in line and you should then see a decrease in the "early puberty" symptoms.  Have you had her checked for precocious puberty?

My heart goes out to you all.
