Temperature keeps on rising and falling
Jun. 14th, 2003   10:13pm

My baby had a temperature of 102 last night.  I brought forward his 8:00 PM dose and doubled it.  By the time I had to dose him again his temperature was back to normal so I only gave him his regular single dose.  An hour later his temperature was up again and I gave him another single dose.  A little  while after-wards  his fever went down and than up again continuing to rise and fall in this manner throughout the day.

I can’t decide what’s the correct way to administer his medication in this situation.  Should I double his dose every time for as long as I’m sure that the fever won’t come back, or should I rather give him single doses when there is no fever and dose again if the temperature goes back up?

Any input would be appreciated.
