Anne-Marie08.00hrs - 30-70 nmol/l (approx. 900-2100 ng/dl), 12.00hrs - less than 12 (360)
16.00hrs - less than 8 (240), 22.00 hrs- less than 8 (240).
That seems to be totally different to reference ranges otherwise quoted on here before:
20-50nmol/L has been mostly quoted as the broad ranges. So 30-70 nmol/L is somewhat a wider range if this is what is considered for older children to my mind. Obviously their 17 OHP levels seem to be more acceptable at higher than 50 nmol/L. We go by 50nmol/L here or 1000 ng/dl for this age and below anyway and thats what is quoted in studies on Pub Med. So perhaps there is a difference as they get older---not quite the concern.
If you look at the growth chart, you will see the growth curve changes to a steeper pitch upwards around aged 12-13. That is where 17 OHP and anabolics would be higher and acceptable. 15’000 may seem high, but it depends where Brenda’s son is in puberty and that levels is around the level as far as I am aware of an average male. Well assuming I was told correctly at the time we had 17 OHp coming back in hose ranges anyway. Since 15 yos can sometimes be within a hair’s breadth of manhood anyway at that age, and he has completed growth, this level is considered ok by his Doctor?
