re: Effects of non classical CAH on behavior

Interesting Joanne....particularly the perfectionist bit! The question is as you suggest: is it familial, is it just your daughters unique makeup or is it connected to CAH?

I relate very well to the perfectionist part as I am ’one’ of them. Trouble is though, perfectionism takes a fair amount of energy and adds to the stress and anxiety that one can experience. So in turn, is the anxiety related to CAH, its’ treatment or to inherited personality? It’s seems very innate and difficult to modify, although not impossible. (I personally think it’s related to our high intelligence - lol!!!).

There does not seem to have been much medical/psychological research done to specifically study possible side-issues of CAH, (anxiety, OCD, lax ligaments, glaucoma, emerging ageing issues etc. etc.). I believe, there are many subtle and not so subtle side-issues that could well be looked at, to give a fuller picture of the lifelong implications of CAH. (I’m going to make a list!  :-)!!
