re: What kind of life will my child lead?

You have to remember that most of todays adults were overtreated on steroids, as hydrocortisone has only been available since the 1950’s and getting the dosage right has been a struggle.  My own son is 15 years old and doing incredibly well but I have noticed since he was born that fine-tuning of medication is a lot better now, than in his early years.  I am not saying there will never be any problems but the medical profession has learnt a lot (from the adults) and if given appropriate doses our children should grow up normally and their lives should not be greatly affected by CAH.  My own son is currently 5ft 6" (expected to grow another 5" as he has a delayed bone-age - so he should be taller than his father!).  He is slim, athletic, happy and full of fun.  You are bound to read ’sad stories’ from time to time but do not despair, it is good to be aware of potential problems but it is certainly not inevitable that they will apply to your child.
