Dear Andrew,

I can easily help you since I am french and live in France !

My son has SWCAH. In french, the disease is called :

HYPERPLASIE CONGENITALE DES SURRENALES

if your child is SW, you must add that he has the "classical" form, in french :

"la forme classique avec perte de sel"

If you also want to be precise about the deficiency, if it is, for example, 21-hydroxylase, you must say : déficit en vingt-et-un (21) hydroxylase.

The names for the meds are : hydrocortisone (for cortef), fludrocortisone (for florinef), and chlorure de sodium (salt).

If you have a problem with your child in France, you must ask to see an "endocrinologue pédiatre" at hospital (endo for children). The meds to administrate in emergency are : hydrocortisone IV ou IM, "syncortil" and "chlorure de sodium en perfusion".

If you have any other problem while you are in France, you can also call me. If you want, I will give you my phone number.

Are you planning to visit France soon ?

Bye
