With a temp of 102 you probably need to be doing a triple dose every 8 hours. Check with the ped endo’s office if you are uncertain (this is the instructions from my ped endo).  Does the fever come down with Tylenol or Motrin? If not you might need to use both meds, alternating every 4 hours. Your ped or ped endo’s office will be able to give you the correct dosage amounts based on your baby’s weight. Make sure he is drinking enough.

Our ped endo will not do blood work until we have been on a normal dose for two weeks.  But you don’t have to have an appointment to get the blood draw.

I would keep the ped endo appointment.  You are correct, they can check everything else.  You also need the oppertunity to talk with the dr in person to go over how you have been handling the fevers -- when and how much on the stress dose, when and how much on the fever reducer. The dr can also try to determine what is causing the fever.
