KayeYou are right about that Janet, although I put my daughters florinef in a two ounce preemie bottle. I do not give it to her until the pill has totally dissolved. In my case, there is never ANY doubt that she will not finish the two ounces of water, but I always open the bottle and inspect the inside as well as the nipple to ensure the pill has totally dissolved. In the CARES newsletter there was a tip on the "parents tip page" about a device I believe found at Wal-Mart that you can put liquid and medicine in. (If memory serves me correctly). I plan on purchasing one of those to give her her florinef from here on out. Sounded like a great tip and my struggle has been that I cannot get her to take the pill yet, so the preemie bottle was my saving grace. Again, you are very right about the pill not melting, because I used to not wait. Usually the pill would be dissolved by the time she finished it, but there were a couple of occasions that I did find a partially dissolved pill stuck up around the nipple, causing me to have to fill the bottle with another ounce or so of water, gently shake it and wait for the rest of the pill to dissolve. Thanks for the post!
