Hi Anne-Marie -- Yes, PepcidAC is OTC med. Ben felt relieve after about 1 week of treatment. Gosh, I would have to go look again, but I believe we had to give in the am and then again in the pm. They are really tiny little pills that he swallowed with water. After I posted yesterday, I went and looked in my notes and found that we actually continued on the PepcidAC for 3 1/2 months to ensure the ulcer(s)  had healed. We stopped after the 2 months, but just a few days after, he started complaining again and the doc said to continue on the Pepcid for another month. We did that and then he has never complained again. We really felt it was just the 6 am med on a really empty stomach that caused the problem. We always ( right from when he was an infant) gave him his late pm dose with water and still do. I think the fact that there is still food there that has not been absorbed protects him but by 6 am it is all digested and there is nothing to protect him at that point. It is not even like he has a sensitive stomach or anything. Matter of fact, I don’t think he has ever complained of a stomach ache since, unless of course he was vomiting due to illness. So let Chloe give it a try - from what I understand, it can’t do any damage or hurt in any way if you don’t need it, so give it a whirl. Hope it helps her.
