It is possible for the child to have such a mild version of both aldosterone and cortisol deficiencies that the aldsoterone level does look okay, but is not quite adequate enough to do the job, thus causing raised renin levels and a mild degree of salt wasting.  In that case the child still needs treatment with replacement aldosterone I would have thought because evetnually if not treated, they would have problems.
