KathrynHey!
I haven’t been up here for awhile, But I do not have time to read all the messages to make sure that You get the general message, that it is SO important to get the solu-cortef ASAP BEFORE you leave the hospital. AND to have a nurse practice with you and your significant other.
My endo would not release my twin boys SWCAH (1991) without us having the solu-cortef, the reason I remember is that it was DEC 24th and most pharmacies were closed, but he made sure and some how found a vial for us.
Knowledge is power.
Most parents here have learned that, there are times we have more insight with this condition, than most regular ER people.
Also I cannot stress enough. Give the shot first, then if you have, to take to the ER. If you wait that could cost you your child. It never harms to give the shot, it only harms if you hesitates.
Its an uphill battle in the beginning, and me and many can atest to of all conditions to have GOD doal out, CAH can be managed. Just be informed, and inform everyone that is important in you childs life, day care, teachers, coaches, friends parents, all in your circle will act in your behalf if you are not there because you gave them the knowledge of how to handle the situation.
Hope everything smoothes out for you.
Kathryn
