I have a 5 month old SWCAH son.  He has reflux that causes him to spit up alot.  You might want to talk to your ped about that.  There are medications to try and help.

About the Cortef.  I try not to feed my son til he has had meds for 30 mins.  If he spits anything up before the 30 min mark we dose again.  Our Endo states that it takes 30 mins to get into the system.  We don’t try and judge how much he has gotten we just give him a full dose.  There have been times where we have dosed many times in a row, but that doesn’t happen very often.  You might also talk to your ped about starting solids early.  My son was on thickened breast milk and then formula.  Now I just feed him with his afternoon dose and evening dose.  It takes us a while to get the food down and since it’s thicker it doesn’t come right back up.

I know this is stressful.  I have spent many days and evenings crying when the time comes for meds.

Feel free to email me.

Take care
