If you had a full arenalectomy, being that the adrenal glands make other hormones besides cortisol (up to 50-60 steroid type hormones and one of them being aldosterone) then your no longer making aldosterone to the same degree you did before certainly.  Therefore you will crave sodium and your sodium levels for that matter will and can be dangerously low.  Doctor’s generally are supposed to replace such hrmones by mouth and also check your bloods after such a procedure to find out what is needed replacement wise.  Your Doctor needs to run renin to find out those levels.  Certainly if your craving salt, you need the aldosterone alternative which is florinef or floudrocortisone acetate as your body is obviously no longer making the hormone.  There is no way it can do when your adrenals have been whipped out.  So I’d seriously think about getting the Doctor to run tests on your renin and prescribe that med asap.  Otherwise you may end up having a sal wasting crisis.  You may also need to supplement with higher sodium for a while until your levels return to normal.
