My daughter is 12 with swch.  Our  endo has recommended us to see a surgeon which we did and Rush Hospital in Chicago.  His name is Dr Chaviano he seems very capable and nice. He has operated on 35 cases of this kind.  Has anyone heard of him?  His recommendation is surgery in two stages.  The first seems to me would be cosmetic and the second would be to make the opening for her vagina. The first surgery would take place over spring break next year and the second would be next summer. He will be doing a scope August 8 to see what he will be working with.   I know this is a source of great controversy on this board but I would like to find all information I can in order to make my decision. My daughter has not had any complications such as urinary infections at all and she has not started menstruating yet.
