My daughter is almost twelve with swch.  We have just consulted our surgeon who will be doing a scope on her August 8 to see what he has to work with.  He explained to me the reason he feels it is a good thing to wait until this age to do the surgery is because once the  vaginal opening is done she will have to use a dialter to keep it opened. Once she starts menstruating she can use a tampax that will be effective.  What he has found when the child is young they won’t use the dialater on their own and they have to come into the office to have this done once a month or so and it is a very uncomfortable situation for them.  So he feels the closer to puberty the better. He is recommending doing the clitoris surgery first and doing the other six months later.  He has told me he has done about 35 surgeries of this nature but the oldest girl is 15 or 16.  As for your doctor I am from Chicago so I can’t help you out there.  Good luck I hope this helped.
