We’re dosing the florinef as per the abstract and it has gone well so far.  Because we are on tablets though, we cannot split them to the percentages suggested in the abstract.  So I split the pill in half and then split one half into quarters.  Three pieces in total which are dosed as follows:

50mcg (half a pill) @ 3am

25mcg (quarter pill) @ 12.00 noon

25mcg  @ 5pm

I don’t dose at 7am, because I feel that there is a call for florinef more so at 3am when the HPA axis is kicking in at that time, and that it is better to give the most generous dose there with the Hydrocortisone dose.  That by 12.00 noon though, there is a need again for it, so I dose 25mcg at that dose and the other quarter at dinner time. 

His growth has also been the best it has ever been really.  Sometime ago we dosed florinef once per day (in the am) and often Ashley would be up and down to the loo in the middle of the night.  These days he sleeps right through and I feel that that is because florinef doses are more consistent and at satisfactory amount to retain fluids.  That is what I prefer anyway.  If he is sick, I split the florinef pill into four and dose him  the pieces on some of  his four hourly hydrocortisone stress doses.
