RE: tests run by endo’s on reg visits
Aug. 5th, 2003   1:40pm

Hi All,

We are back from vacation and back to real life!!  I just had my son’s endo appt. and I was concerned because my endo decided to go ahead and do blood work. We always get blood work done in the morning. She told me that she was just going to do androstenendione and renin and and ACTH and not do a  17ohp. She said that those numbers combined with his growth etc... would be enough to let her know how he is doing. We have never not done a 17ohp and I am uncomfortable with this.

Should I ask to have a 17ohp done anyway?  She assured me that if the numbers came back "funny" then we could do the testing in the am. I just have never heard of a doctor not checking 17ohp!

Thanks,

Sandra
