RebeccaMJun,
The biggest concern with low renin and having too much florinef is high blood pressure. That is always a concern, especially with babies, because you haven’t really been able to determine what their needs are yet and some Dr.’s tend to put them on higher florinef dosages at first just to keep them hydrated and alive since they can’t watch how much fluid they intake 24 hours a day. Babies can dehydrate so quickly that a little bit of a low renin is the chance they are willing to take. If you can’t get to your doctor, at least have the other doctor check her blood pressure! If that is alright, I would say relax a little (I know its hard) and wait for your doctor to come back to see if they want to lower the dose. Our little girl had low renin levels in the very beginning and until it affected her blood pressure (which they checked every time we went) they kept her on a rather high dose of Florinef and said it wouldn’t hurt. Maybe someone else will tell you different but thats from my perspective.
Take care,
RebeccaM
