The 17-OHP is an important blood test.  The CAH kids get so many blood tests and should have it repeated so often , maybe the doctor wanted to look at it the next time.  You are the parent and paying for the treatment and if you feel like YOU wanted it done and not later - insist on it.  I feel it is important because the dosage are important.  I also think that the levels need to be check often because the child is growing.  Only an adult should wait 6 months.  Growning children should be checked at least every 3 months (4 months at the most).  If under or over dosed for long term - you can’t go back and fix it!!!!!!

If you don’t give the stress dose - again - you can’t go back and fix it.  Be sure you have solu-cortef!!!
