RistyAt one of my appointments with Dr New, I met a lady in the waiting room who told me that her son has 17beta. He was a late onseter and it was discovered at about age 9 when he had the bone age of a thirteen year old. He is currently on growth hormones (and probably on Lupron, but she didn’t tell me that) and he is now expected to reach a final height of about 6’12, much taller than what he would be if he wouldn’t have CAH altogether. I never heard that CAH and it’s treatment can make someone extremely tall. Even more, if he will be tall anyway than why does he even need the growth hormones at all? The more I think about it the more it confuses me. Did anyone ever hear of similar situation? I would appreciate some insight on this one.
