When my son was first diagnosed 5 yrs ago, I asked his endo about bone density loss and steroids. He indicated that because the steroids were for replacement only of what my son’s body can not make on its own, that bone density should not be a concern. Do you know if bone loss is related to just prednisone, or to hydrocortisone as well? I am very curious. If it is related, I should definately be increasing my son’s calcium intake. Any studies that you know of?
