We have a certified RN at our school and she is absolutely WONDERFUL!!!! The whole staff is great. At the beginning of the school year we have a meeting with the school nurse, the counselor, the principal, and my daughter’s teacher for that year and we go over what to do in case of an emergency. The counselor and the school nurse have an actual emergency plan in place and everybody knows what to do. The school nurse can give the injection and then 911 is called then they will notify me. I gave them strict instructions along with our endo to give the injection first, then call 911, then call me last. Just make sure she is taken care of first!!!! They take this very serious and I was so relieved when they all come together to help and be so concerned. Let me know if there are any letters or anything that may can help you with your situation because they should know this is a life threatening thing if not handled correctly and that they shouldn’t hesitate to help you out.
