My daughter is 10 and has not had the cosmetic part of this surgery.  SHe is considered a prader 3.  She has read the article with me beside her and while she understands it she began to get very upset about the part that stated after hearing that their little boy was a girl that the mother walked back in and was so overhwhelmed that she "collapsed on the floor in a fetal position".  My daughter said "was she so sad that she had a little girl like that?"  after we spoke about it for awhile she now understands that it was the news of EVERYTHING all at once, but the way that part was written was that all the shock and sadness was about the ovaries etc.  . .being found and really glossed over the fact that their child had a chronic condition and could die.
