Doctors vary greatly in their opinions on CAH, but our endo told us that we need to be at the hospital within an hour of giving her the injection.  It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if other people’s doctors went so far as to tell them not to worry about it.

For example, I read alot here recently about vaccinations and dosage.  One person said their doctor had them double-dosing for a DAY BEFORE they got their vaccinations.  That isn’t the least bit logical.  Even so, the general consensus here about vaccinations was that CAH kids should be doubled after they get their shots.  Our endo, on the other hand, told us there was no need to change the dosage at all unless one of the vaccinations caused a fever.  That made sense to us and we did not increase the dosage at all.  Everything was fine.

The whole crisis issue is a little too vague for my liking so we’ve always thought it’s better to be safe than sorry and we have brought her in immediately.  It doesn’t matter all that much which doctor you go to so long as the ER doctor is able to get in touch with your endo for specific instructions.
