re: AH and migraines/vertigo

Steve - I have posted about this before - I too have migraines (and CAH) and I found that on day 21 of my menstrual cycle (the day that progesterone is at it’s highest) I would get migraines - almost every month - also they would always start with the aura - and happen in late afternoon. For me there seems to be a link to low cortisol - on top of the high progresterone. I have now gotten very cautious of what I eat around that time (or anytime for that matter) and avoid processed meats, nutrasweet, avacados, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, tea of any sort, bananas, citrus juices and cheddar cheese. It really seems to help. Also - the miracle for me now is that I can take more dex and it will stop the migraine - and it works EVERY time for me. I just figured this out this year after having them for almost 20 years. I have never seen it written anywhere and don’t know of anyone but me who has taken extra steroids for migraines - I know for me it works. I’d always be incapacitated with the weird vision, terrible headache and vomiting. My head would pound the second day too - after the headache itself was over (swelling I guess). Don’t know if this will be useful to you or not - I certainly am not a doctor - I just know it works for me.

PS - I too am on thyroid medication and have been having quite a time with dizziness - I just posted about it on the controversy board last week - not sure what to do there - I hate the dizziness though and it makes me feel lousy. Any ideas - let me know.
