Hi Susan - Thanks so much for writing. The woman I mentioned (Maryann)
who has nearly identical medical history to me reports her symptoms
are much worse the second half of her cycle. It’s becoming more clear
to me that our migraines and vertigo have a hormonal connection.

How much thyroid do you take? The experience of Maryann and I is
that each time we increase our dose, the vertigo diminishes for a
few weeks, then comes back in a few weeks, as if we grow tolerant.
I wonder if this can be explained by the HPA or other hormone axes
simply readjusting. My TSH is down to 0.1 now, and I can’t take more
hormone without getting hyperthyroid symptoms.

Both Maryann and I have had thyroid cancer. I also had very high
mercury levels, and have been treated for that. Maryann has not
had a proper test for mercury, but has 20 (!) amalgam dental fillings.
Do you have any amalgam fillings?

Interesting that dex helps your migraines, but not dizziness. For me
they have been diagnosed as one in the same thing, that is, the
dizziness is sort of a migraine in the vestibular system. I get the
auras too, along with blind spots and other impaired vision effects.
Lots ’o fun they are! This page about migraine associated vertigo
describes me perfectly:

What hormones are in dex? I started cortef last week, but have yet
to see a measurable improvement. I’m wondering if I need more than
just cortef’s hydrocortisone.
