re: re: schedule of Cortef dosing

The unfortunate thing about CAH is there isn’t always an exact answer -like Carrie mentioned; the fortunate thing is there are many out there willing to share their experiences. I also can only comment on our experiences- our son has SWCAH & is 14mos old -we keep him on schedule (our dosing is 3x a day), but every once in awhile, a nap has lasted through the afternoon dose (by about an hour).  Personally, we have not had any problems -and we do give food w/his am & afternoon dose, but the evening dose is given w/o food.  I do have some concern over this as I have seen posts from adults w/CAH & stomach issues..and the prescription bottle does say to give with food. So far, our little one doesn’t seem to be bothered if he has food or not,but I do worry about down the road.  I’d say, keep your little one on a schedule as best as you can & if you can give food with it that would be best -try not to worry so...easier said than done :)  Best wishes.
