80 miles away ... not way you should try to drive there even after you gave the shot.  You need to go to the nearest hospital with an emergency letter - explaining was treatment is needed. Of course give the injection of solu-cortef at home and go to the NEAREST hospital.  I am sure the doctors would prefer that you drive 80 miles so they can get paid but that would put your child in RISK... NO WAY. Your local ped doctor  - needs the emergency letter.  The local ped doctor or family doctor can see your child in the hospital and call the OU medical center if a conference is needed.
