Susan A.Steve - No I didn’t do anything after having the fillings removed - what is chelation? They were removed about 10 years ago I suppose. Yes, I have been diagnosed as hypothyroid. My levels were way up - I did leave a msg at my endo’s office today to find out about lab results on my last blood draw. I take .05 of Levoxyl daily - but didnt’ take any today because I seem to feel worse when I do take it lately. I have been diagnosed with CAH - I have late-onset but had symptoms starting at about age 5 - not on meds though until age 19 - had bad acne, no periods, too much body hair, lots of anxiety, no energy, stopped growing at age 11, etc. All the classic stuff (ok - non-classic stuff - haha). I have been on Dexamethasone since age 19 (I’m 44 now). I take .375 a day (half of a .75 pill) but have been on various doses from different endo’s ranging from .25 (which I went into crisis twice on that dose) to .50 and .75 (which thinned my bones and gave me a buffalo hump and a extra fat).
When I get a migraine I just raise my dose by double and it stops the migraine. They usually start coming on around 4 pm - always after 2 pm and rarely in the evening (though I did have one last week at about 9:30 pm.) That one was stress induced (though it was day 20 of my cycle and my progesterone was really high too). I’m a teacher and we were in meetings and getting our rooms ready for kids last weeek - quite a change from the layed back (well somewhat) summer I’d had. The fluorescent lights in my classroom bother me too - light can set them off - a blinking light bulb will set me off almost every time.
Meniere’s Disease hasn’t been mentioned - but then my endo’s nurse practitioner is the only one I’ve talked to about this. You know in the last few months or so I never have a day where I’m not dizzy - and feeling kinda headachy. I lead a normal life - go caving, hiking, to the gym, etc. I’m a normal weight, etc - by looking at me you’d never know I have CAH or any of the dizziness, etc. Oh ... My brother is wracked with migraines too - he has even had the nerves in his neck zapped so they don’t transmit pain. He has problems with anxiety as well. He did have an ACTH test done though about 2 years ago because we thought he might have CAH too and it came out ok - he did have a cortisol blood test done and it was low. He’s missed a lot of work and was actually on medical leave from Boeing for almost a year it was so bad! He has problems with depression too. He’s a wonderful guy - the best - good husband and father and friend - wish I could help him with the medical problems - no one can seem to figure it out (he’s been to numerous doctors)
I’d love to get to the bottom of this - I feel my quality of life could be a lot better if I could just find the solution to this dang thing (dizziness and confusion). I’m a teacher and it’s hard some days when I can’t think as straight as I need to and the kids correct me. Usually just simple things - and when it’s really bad I have trouble spelling. My memory is affected a lot too. Is yours?
Thanks for replying. Susan A.
