you need to relax. seriously. I have had sw cah since birth and never not ONCE had any kind of problem associated with it.if i got sick, no big deal. i simply took more cortisone. if i got into a car accident, and believe me i have, when i got to the hospital, they gave me a shot of cortisone.  your son does not need a cortisone shot right there on the spot ASAP if they were to get into a bus accident. do as my mother did and send him with a note stating that he has sw cah and what his  cortisone dosage is.  and for gods sake, please dont home school your child simply becuase you are nervous about his meds. thats not fair to your son.  i know you are nervous becuase your son has CAH but really, he’ll be fine.  unless he has some form thats not controlable with meds or is having other complications, its really a disease that can be managed with medications. truthfully, i dont even think about it anymore. i take my cortisone in the morning and i put a little more salt on foods thatn the average person, but thats it.  good luck.
