re: appointment with Dr. New
Sep. 13th, 2003   8:42pm

We are due to see Dr New next. I was thrilled to see your post on this very topic. Our current Endo suggested we see Dr New for a second opinion as our son has been diagnosed with PDD/Autism as well. Any amount of Cortef or Florinef causes an unbelievable change in his behavior and it is difficult to restrain him. Off the meds, our son is calm (not behaviorial Autistic child). The Endo says that he needs to be on the meds or we should find other therapies for the Autism that can work with CAH meds.

Its difficult to find the right balance but we will push on. There has to be an answer out there and an endo who can give it to us. Our endo is not working well with our son’s neurologist (nor have they tried) to give us clear results.

Fortunately we are close to Dr. New (we are on Long Island) so the trip wouldn’t be too long. Any input anyone has on her office visits and staff is greatly appreciated!
