i’m new to the message board but sure am glad i found it.i have gained a new knowledge of my 2 1/2 yr old sons SWCAH.now i feel i need to learn as much as i possily can about this and the signs of adrenal crisis. i’m mostly fearful of the health care people who he may incounter along the way since it seems it is now my duty to inform them of what they need to do incase there is a crisis. which i already have encountered one.i called the endo peds on call, he had thrown up about 3 times but kept his first dose down when i called her it was right after the 3rd time she instrucked me to give him the injection imediatly and get him to childrens hosp in sanb diego, traffic was at its peak and i live 20 min. away so i rushed him to their urgent care when i got there the nurse told me i’d have to wait and i started to get excited since she stressed he could have low blood pressure and go into shock.i imideately called the endo peds on call and put her on the phone with the nurse. need i say they rushed him back staight away and got the iv in then proceeded to childrens via ambulance.this was our first time with a crisis. the doc informed me that i had handled myself quite well and that i did the right thing and gave him what he needed the problem is the decision of when to call so i say when EVER you are UNSURE CALL THE ENDO !!!!! i cannot stress that enogh it could be a matter of your childs life now each and every day i thank god he’s alive but know in my heart that it could only be a small unfortunate instance that could take him from us. i now carry the injection in my car and if i’m going to be a distance from my car i take it with me.these little angles are very fragile keep them close to your heart. who is danny carlton ? i think he can give all of us alot of valuable information,,,,you can never learn enogh it seems i my self need to learn morekelly
