This may be a topic that could ruffle some feathers but I am interested in hearing if anyone is receiving SSI for their CAH children.  We have a hearing for our 2 young girls with CAH next week.  Is there any helpful information about this?  Any tips for the hearing you could give us?  Did you have an attorney?  We initially were not going to apply but realized that our children could have guaranteed medical benefits associated with SSI.  This would be good for their future, as well as our present.  My husband works so very hard for our family but even with good 80/30% insurance- the expenses are overwhelming!  Also, we discovered that 3 different acquaintances of ours receive SSI for post traumatic stress, bipolar and ADHD.  Our children have been so ill and been to the ER so many times that I am unable to work.  I cannot imagine what work would be like for me between normal check ups and blood work and emergency situations- times two children.
