Danny CarltonIf you talk to your doctor about it he or she should be willing to write a prescription for the extra meds. We keep two solu-cortef on hand in case the second is needed before it can be ordered from the pharmacy. Then again we have two kids with CAH, so we were given two prescriptions. There was a time when we gave both kids a dose of solu-cortef from the same bottle, keeping the other bottle as an emergency backup.
When our co-pays were lower we would refill the prescription as frequently as they would allow, and the doctor always made the prescription out for more than the regular dose, so there’d be enough for emergency double or triple dosing.
