Our endo also writes us a script for the Cortef to be dispensed as needed -and as of now, the Cortef supply we get is a 3 month supply -our co-pay is $30.00. I keep extras of both the Cortef & Florinef in our diaper bag and in my purse. We are lucky enough to have extras of the solu-cortef and that we keep at home and in the medical kit in the diaper bag.  We also keep an extra of that at the grandparents.  Sometimes I used to not take the extra pills or such if I was just running into the post office or a store for a minute, but the way our world is today, I always bring the diaper bag with all supplies (icluding extra water, pedialyte/gatorade...) -about a year ago, the day before my parents flew in to visit, a psychiatric patient made a threat at the airport and they kept everyone inside for a few hours.  I kept thinking, what if that was us & I missed medicine time, or even worse, he needed the shot. So...

I write the epxiration date (according to our original bottles which I take the extras from, it is good for a year) on the bottle I carry the extras in.  That way I know when to get new ones. -I usually exchange them within 6-8 months.
