Jill H.Our 7 year old had almost $700 worth of dental work (fillings and extractions) last year and our dentist said that it is from drinking so much juice. He drinks alot because the cortef dries his mouth out and that also causes another problem that with a dry mouth he does not produce enough saliva to wash the sugers and such from his teeth that nornally gets washed off if your saliva glands produce what they are suppossed to.
Our son also took liquid corfef until we found out it was bad and when he started the pills he also decided that he will chew them and not take them with a drink either. I’m not really sure how to get him to drink and swallow a pill...we just got our 13 year old to be able to do it. :-)
We try to keep his teeth brushed more often and know that this will be a problem the rest of his life.
So the teeth are a major thing to keep track of and teach them to brush more often. Can you have him take his pill and then brush his little teeth before going to bed? It’s just an idea.
