JosieNatalie,
Thanks for your response. My daughter underwent "aggresive therapy" to rid her of her constipation problems 2 1/2 years ago. Since then she has also had several xrays and CT scans done. The GI doc said their were several tests we could run but none more conclusive then the endoscope. She has been through so much I figure we need to stop wasting time and get to the bottom of it. Her pain though, is in her upper GI tract and her esophogus. Before prevacid, she was spitting up every time she ate and then some. Her pain is in her tummy and she also suffers from extreme heart burn. At times (and before prevacid- several times a day) her heart burn was sooo bad she would not do anything but lay on the couch and cry. Tums and other antacids would do nothing. She was maxing out on the doses of pepcid complete with no relief. Prevacid has offered her the most relief but not completely. She said today she was so happy to get this endoscopy done so maybe she could finally feel good. My heart breaks for her!!!! Our GI doc said cortef can be very hard on the tummy and it doesn’t help matters that our daughter completely stresses out about things and has a very anxious personality! He did say he had never seen a case of such severe symptoms in a 7 year old before. I wish she could feel better yesterday! I will let you know how things turn out. Let me know how your 10 year old is doing! I did get a copy of the letter to the GI dept from our endo today outlining the surgery protocol. It reminded me that CAH is no walk in the park when it comes to things like this. We must always be vigilant! I hope they will find what the problem is and in doing so find the solution!
Take care,
Josie
